Answer Engine Optimization & GEO Services
Answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) are the work of getting your brand surfaced and cited inside AI-generated answers — Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini — rather than only in ten blue links. We do that work, and we measure it.
What AEO and GEO actually mean.
Answer engine optimization (AEO) is optimizing a brand so that answer engines can understand it, trust it, and quote it inside a generated answer. Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the matching discipline for the generative systems that compose an answer and credit their sources. The work overlaps heavily but the target differs, and this site keeps the distinction: AEO competes to be the answer itself, where an engine lifts a passage straight from your page; GEO competes to be the source credited beneath it, where an engine composes an answer and names who it drew on. Both require the same foundations — machine-readable facts, verifiable claims and the citation signals these systems use to decide whom to trust.
It is not a rebrand of SEO. Classic SEO optimizes for a ranked list that a person then clicks. AEO and GEO optimize for an extracted answer that a model assembles, where there may be no click at all and the only prize is being named as the source.
Why it matters now.
The click is no longer the unit of search. Our own benchmark, and the published measurements we rely on:
- 84% of the marketing and AI-search queries we tracked returned a Google AI Overview, citing 11.6 sources on average — DigiJaws AI Overview Prevalence Benchmark, July 2026
- 68.01% of US Google searches ended without a click in the first four months of 2026 — SparkToro, on Similarweb clickstream data, June 2026
- 93% of Google AI Mode searches end without a click — Semrush, September 2025
- 61% fall in organic click-through rate when an AI Overview is present, from 1.76% to 0.61% across 3,119 informational queries at 42 organisations, June 2024 to September 2025 — Seer Interactive
- 52% of crawler requests are now for AI training, up from 22% in spring 2025 — Cloudflare, June 2026
If your brand is not structured to be understood and cited by those systems, you are absent at the moment the buyer decides — and no ranking report will show it, because the impression never becomes a click.

What’s included.
- Entity & structured-data optimization — schema, entity disambiguation and a consistent machine-readable description of what your business is and does
- Content engineered for extraction — direct answers, definition blocks and one-claim-per-sentence writing that survives being quoted out of context
- Citation & authority signals — the corroboration these systems look for before they name a source
- Conversational query targeting — the questions people actually type into an assistant, not the keywords they typed into a search box
- Crawler access & llms.txt — making sure AI crawlers can reach and parse what you publish
- AI Overview & answer-engine visibility tracking — measuring where you are quoted, by which engine, for which prompts
How the engagement runs.
- Baseline. We establish where you are cited today across the major answer engines, for which prompts, and against which competitors. Without a baseline there is nothing to prove later.
- Machine-readability. Entity data, schema and crawler access, so the systems can parse your business correctly before we ask them to quote it.
- Citable assets. We build or rewrite the pages that answer your buyers’ real questions, in the form these systems lift from.
- Corroboration. Earning the external signals that move a brand from “mentioned” to “cited”.
- Measurement. Ongoing tracking of citation share by engine and prompt, reported against the baseline.
We publish our own data.
We ask clients to trust us on AI visibility, so we publish our working data rather than only describing it. These are public, dated and checkable, and they are maintained with the same discipline we apply to client work:
- /pricing-data.json — entry pricing, billing basis, per-seat status and free-tier availability for 296 tools, every row carrying the date it was verified
- /pricing-changelog.json — 34 recorded pricing changes with before, after and the evidence for each, also published as RSS
- 180+ tool reviews and a pricing index, each figure read from the vendor’s own page on a stated date
Dated, sourced and checkable is the form this work has to take to be quotable. The method is the same one we apply to a client’s own pages.

Frequently asked questions
What is answer engine optimization (AEO)?
AEO is optimizing your brand to be surfaced and cited inside AI-generated answers — Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini — instead of only in traditional blue-link search results. The goal is being named as the source of an answer, not just ranking on a results page.
What is generative engine optimization (GEO)?
Generative engine optimization targets engines that compose an answer and cite the sources beneath it, where AEO targets the extracted answer itself. The underlying work is largely shared — machine-readable entity data, extractable content and citation signals — which is why the terms are often used loosely, but the distinction matters when you decide what to measure.
Is GEO different from SEO?
Yes, in what it optimizes for. SEO optimizes for a ranked list a person clicks. GEO and AEO optimize for an extracted answer a model assembles, where there is often no click and the outcome is whether you are cited. The technical foundations overlap; the content form and the measurement do not.
How is AI search visibility measured?
By citation share: how often your brand is quoted, by which engine, for which prompts, and against which competitors. It is measured per prompt rather than per keyword, because an assistant answers a question rather than returning a list. We baseline this before any work begins.
How long does answer engine optimization take?
Machine-readability changes — schema, entity data, crawler access — can be read by these systems as soon as they recrawl. Earning citation share on competitive prompts is slower, because it depends on corroboration from sources outside your own site. We report against the baseline rather than against a promised date.
Do I still need traditional SEO?
Yes. Answer engines draw heavily on conventional search indexes, so technical health, crawlability and authority still underpin whether you can be cited at all. AEO and GEO sit on top of technical SEO, not instead of it.
What is llms.txt and does it matter?
It is a proposed file for telling AI systems how to use your content, analogous to robots.txt. Adoption is not universal and it is not a ranking factor. We cover what it does and does not do in our guide to llms.txt.
Which AI visibility tools do you use?
We are tool-agnostic and we review the category publicly — see our comparison of AI visibility tools, where every price is read from the vendor’s own page on a stated date. The right tool depends on which engines and prompts matter to your business.

How is DigiJaws different from a traditional marketing agency?
DigiJaws is an AEO growth agency with its own software. Our team runs your answer engine optimization end to end: technical fixes, content AI cites, citations and PR, and weekly tracking of how often AI names you. AEO programs start at $2,000 a month, with Growth at $5,000 a month and custom programs for multi-location and larger companies. The software on its own starts free, with Pro at $49 a month.
How much does it cost?
AEO programs start at $2,000 a month (Foundation). Most clients choose Growth at $5,000 a month, and multi-location or larger companies get a custom program. The software on its own has a free plan with no signup and a Pro plan at $49 a month. Book a free AEO audit call to see which program fits.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
AEO programs run on a 6-month agreement, billed monthly, and you can cancel at any point with 30 days notice. Pro software is billed monthly or annually and you can cancel anytime.
Is there a guarantee?
We guarantee the work: the fixes, content and citations in your plan get delivered, and you see weekly tracking against your competitors. No one can honestly guarantee what an AI engine will say, which is why any AEO program can be cancelled with 30 days notice. Pro software comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Can I try it for free?
Yes. You can start free with no credit card and explore our suite of free marketing tools and an instant site audit any time, before committing to a plan.
How soon will I see results?
It depends on the channels and where you are starting. Paid media can drive results quickly, while SEO and content compound over weeks and months. We set clear expectations with you up front so you know what to expect and when.
Do I need marketing or technical experience?
No. DigiJaws is built to be done-for-you, so you set the goals and review the results while our team and software handle the day-to-day work.
