Canva pricing starts at Pro US$180/year for one person. Every figure on this page was checked against Canva’s own pricing page on 2026-09-10, and the date is on the page so you can judge how stale it is. Below: what each plan costs, what the step up actually buys you, and what the headline price leaves out.

Canva has a free plan. Check its allowance against how you would actually use it — what runs out first is usually what forces the upgrade.

What each upgrade actually costs

Tier lists tend to hide the only number that matters when you are choosing: the difference between the plan you are on and the next one up, over a year.

Pro → Business costs $70 more a year. What you get for it: Team brand controls, admin and collaboration; no seat minimum

What the headline price leaves out

AI features use credits, and serious designers will find it less precise than pro tools like Figma or Adobe. The limit that usually forces an upgrade: AI features consume credits; less precise than pro tools.

Recent pricing changes

Canva's published annual price has risen. As verified on 2026-09-10, Pro is US$180 a year for one person and Business US$250 a year per person, with yearly billing advertised at 16% off monthly. The $120 a year quoted when this review was written no longer applies. Canva has also moved AI features into a separate AI Pass add-on sold on top of Pro or Business, so “Pro includes the AI” is no longer wholly true.

Which plan is right for you

The paid tiers are worth it for Marketers and social media creators; Small businesses and non-designers. For those uses the plan pays for itself in time saved rather than features unlocked.

It is a poor fit for professional product/ux designers (use figma); and for high-end photo/vector work (use adobe). Paying for a tier whose headline feature you will not use is the most common way software budgets leak.

Is Canva worth the money?

Our reviewers rated Canva 4.5/5. Effortless design for non-designers, with a huge template library and built-in AI (Magic Studio). The full assessment — what it does well, where it falls down and who should avoid it — is in our Canva review.

If the price is the sticking point, the closest alternatives we have reviewed are Adobe Express, Figma, Visme. Every one of them carries the same dated pricing check as this page.

How we check pricing

We read the vendor’s own pricing page rather than repeating a third-party summary, record the date, and re-check on a schedule — which is how we catch a tier being renamed or retired. The figures behind this page are published as a machine-readable catalog so that AI assistants quoting them can quote something current.
