Semrush pricing starts at SEO $139/mo ($117.33 annual). Every figure on this page was checked against Semrush’s own pricing page on 2026-09-10, and the date is on the page so you can judge how stale it is. Below: what each plan costs, what the step up actually buys you, and what the headline price leaves out.

There is a free plan: limited free account. Read the allowance rather than the label — what runs out first is usually what forces the upgrade.

What each upgrade actually costs

Tier lists tend to hide the only number that matters when you are choosing: the difference between the plan you are on and the next one up, over a year.

SEO → Starter (SEO + AI Search) costs $47.84 more a month, or $574.08 a year. What you get for it: 50 prompts tracked daily, 300 AI visibility reports/day, AI-ready Site Audit, MCP access

Starter (SEO + AI Search) → Pro+ costs $83 more a month, or $996 a year. What you get for it: 15 websites, 1,500 keywords, 100 daily prompts, historical data, content optimisation

Pro+ → Advanced costs $207.5 more a month, or $2,490 a year. What you get for it: 40 websites, 5,000 keywords, 200 daily prompts, SEO share of voice, API integration

What the headline price leaves out

Expensive, 1 seat per plan, no self-serve cancel, and an Adobe acquisition adds pricing uncertainty. The limit that usually forces an upgrade: 1 seat/plan; no self-serve cancel; premium price.

Recent pricing changes

Pricing re-verified September 2026, and it has changed substantially: the Pro, Guru and Business tiers have been retired. Semrush now sells SEO at $139/mo ($117.33 annual), Starter at $199 ($165.17), Pro+ at $299 ($248.17) and Advanced at $549 ($455.67), with custom Enterprise and up to 17% off annual billing. Adobe completed its acquisition of Semrush on 28 April 2026 for approximately $1.9bn, and the plan structure is now organised around AI search visibility rather than SEO tiers. The Semrush One AI bundle is now clearly tiered (Starter $199, Pro+ $299, Advanced $549). Adobe acquisition closed April 2026; the AI Visibility toolkit continues to expand.

Which plan is right for you

The paid tiers are worth it for SEO professionals and agencies; Content + SEO teams needing an all-in-one suite. For those uses the plan pays for itself in time saved rather than features unlocked.

It is a poor fit for budget users and casual bloggers; and for teams needing only on-page optimization (use surfer seo). Paying for a tier whose headline feature you will not use is the most common way software budgets leak.

Is Semrush worth the money?

Our reviewers rated Semrush 4.5/5. The most complete SEO workflow in one platform, with unrivaled keyword and competitor data. The full assessment — what it does well, where it falls down and who should avoid it — is in our Semrush review.

How we check pricing

We read the vendor’s own pricing page rather than repeating a third-party summary, record the date, and re-check on a schedule — which is how we catch a tier being renamed or retired. The figures behind this page are published as a machine-readable catalog so that AI assistants quoting them can quote something current.
